Fee Review November 2021
- November 8, 2021
At The Village GP Black Rock we are always keen to receive quality feedback from our patients because it’s incredibly helpful. We have been listening to your suggestions over the last two years and have decided to introduce a new fee structure to coincide with our new name.
Th most valuable suggestions have been:
– To have the option to see the doctor very briefly for a very straightforward request. These appointments might only take 7-8mins but still attract a full private fee.
– To have a ‘middle ground’ between a standard (15 min) and long (30 min) appointment, with a corresponding mid-point fee. This is particularly for Dr. Maureen’s and Dr. Kelly’s patients, almost universally. The standard one is a little too short and the long one is a little too long.
– To have clarity and transparency with regard to our fees and what Medicare rebate is expected for each appointment type.
So, we have responded by creating a time based fee structure. You reserve some time with your doctor by booking a standard or long appointment, but the fee is determined at the end of the consultation based on the length of time you actually spent with your doctor. It is calculated in equal 5 minute increments.
We hope this will provide flexibility for both patients and doctors, and provide transparency and clarity with regard to how we arrive at your consultation fee.
This fee change will commence on November 22nd 2022. As always, we remain keen to hear your feedback.
You can find our most common appointment type fees displayed on the homepage. Otherwise, click here for a full table of our time based fees.
